Avon Tyrrell 2024
Monday
We arrived safely and enjoyed exploring our new home for the next few days. We started our activities and had a lovely dinner followed by an evening walk in the forest.
Tuesday
After a restful first night, the children awoke with the sunrise and the singing birds and fuelled themselves with a cooked breakfast, cereals and toast. The adventurous Year 4 then set about their morning activities. Out on the lake, many children enjoyed fun and games in the kayaks. Plenty of splashes were made and lots of upper body strength was required. The dizzying heights of the 'leap of faith' and the 'chopsticks' were no match for the children. Fully harnessed and wearing hard hats, they climbed and leapt their way from the tall trees. A fish and chips lunch was welcome after such a busy start to the day and as the children headed for the archery ranges. Even a few 10 points were scored by budding Robin Hoods! Excited shouts of joy were heard across the forest as children used iPads for geocaching. Dinner was topped off with a birthday cake and a round of happy birthdays for Josie, before heading to the campfire for singing and marshmallows. We sang beautifully and loudly, which kept the wildlife alert and awake.
All are tucked up and sleeping soundly after a busy, fun-filled day. We can't wait to return tomorrow and share all our wonderful adventures with you (and two more still to come!).
