Celtic Day 24/10/24

Year 4 had a wonderful day celebrating all of their History learning from this half-term. We thoroughly enjoyed spending the day completing a range of different Celtic inspired activities. As we came into school we shared our wonderful costumes with each other. We started the morning by coming together as a year group and singing a Celtic version of the song 'This Is Me' from the Greatest Showman. After this, we went back to our own classes and took part in a drama activity. We worked through a range of pictures creating freeze frames for each one. We then brought our freeze fames to life and acted out the scenes. These included: building roundhouses, going to battle and farming the land. Following this, we put our Year 4 writing skills to good use with some diary writing. We transported ourselves into a Celtic battle and recounted the sights we would have seen, sounds we would have heard and emotions we would have felt as a warrior! The afternoon was filled with Celtic artwork. We studied lots of examples for inspiration then decorated the first initials of our names. We had a fantastic day!
